I was born in Reno, Nevada and raised in Battle Mountain, Nevada. People always ask me how I could live in such a small town(3,000 people), but I can remember very few times where I had nothing to do. Sports have always been a big part of my life. In high school I played soccer, golf and I wrestled.
I left BM after high school and went to college in Moscow, ID at the University of Idaho.
I spent two and half years fumbling around in an architecture program before realizing that I wasn’t having any fun. Rather than continue on that path and regret it, I jumped ship. I took one class in web communication that was essentially an introduction to web design and immediately knew that this is what I wanted to do. I graduated in December of 2003 with a degree in visual communication.
I have studied a little bit of everything from information design to interface design to graphic design. For the last five years I have focused on understanding and implementing web standards, xhtml and css.
When I’m not sitting in front of my computer I love to be outside. Often times with my camera, a Canon Elan IIe. I’m a huge Metallica fan with quite a collection of classic vinyl and other memorabilia. I’m and avid golfer with a handicap that hovers around ten. I also enjoy classic cars and the whole hot rod culture that surrounds them.
During my junior year of college I met Leisa Whitehead and we fell in love. She is also a graduate of the University of Idaho with a degree in dance pedagogy. She currently works full time for Ad Spec, a local promotional items company, and is a member of Wing and a Prayer dance company. We were engaged in April of 2003 and got married in October 2005 in beautiful, historic Genoa, Nevada.
